Social protection services Child’s Personal assistant and Personal assistance

Personal assistant is available for child with disorder or disability, who’s in need of support in fulfilling their basic needs in everyday life in spheres of movement, personal hygiene maintenance, feeding, dressing up, and communication with others, provided the child is attending educational institution, ie. school, until the end of the school, including High School. The purpose of personal assistance is providing child with adequate individual practical support for inclusion in regular schooling, and community activities, so that the child can acquire as high as possible level of independence. The service is available for 14 children, offered by 14 trained professional workers. Services of personal assistance are available for over 18 individuals with disabilities with estimated I or II degree of support, and who fulfill the criteria for the need of increased care and assistance, are able for independent decision making, are employed or actively involved in different associations of citizens, sport associations, political parties or other form of social engagement, that is the individuals are involved in regular or individual educational program. The purpose of personal assistance service is providing adequate individual practical support necessary for the client in order to satisfy their personal needs and encourage their inclusion in educational, work and social activities in community, for acquiring as high as possible level of independence. The personal assistance service is realized through activities which, in accordance with the purpose of the service, and depended on the client’s identified needs, provide practical help and support. This service is available for five clients.
