"Right to support and dignity" project launched
In Novi Pazar, the implementation of the "Right to Support and Dignity" project, whose goal is to improve the social and economic rights of people with disabilities, has officially begun. The project is focused on the areas of work, social protection, health and education, and its focus is to contribute to better inclusion and a more equal position of people with disabilities in the local community through participatory monitoring, documentation of obstacles and public advocacy. The project will include research on the exercise of rights, the organization of workshops for the empowerment of persons with disabilities and their families, as well as open meetings and public debates with decision makers. Special emphasis was placed on the promotion of examples of good practice and the strengthening of cooperation between civil society organizations, institutions and the community itself. It is expected that these activities will contribute to greater visibility of the problems faced by persons with disabilities, as well as to the development of recommendations for the improvement of existing policies and services. In this way, Novi Pazar gets the opportunity to become an example of a more inclusive and fair environment where the rights and dignity of all citizens are equally respected. The project is implemented by the Novi Pazar Association of Psychologists with the financial support of the European Union, the Transatlantic Foundation GMF and the A 11 Initiative for Economic and Social Rights
