EARLY TREATMENT – Purpose and content

Services of early treatment and psychological efforts/ are intended for children from 0 to 11 years old who have disabilities or learning disorders, and need special psychological assessment and treatment, as well as for children whose parents suspect that there are certain difficulties, and hence they need diagnostical service. Within the service treatment, the assessment and the diagnosis of developmental difficulties are conducted, as well as psychological rehabilitation of following conditions: Difficulties in speech and language development (developmental dysphasia, dyslaly, mutism, echolalia) Rehabilitation of children with hearing loss Rehabilitation of children with motoric disorders (cerebral children paralysis, developmental dyspraxia) Rehabilitation of children with mental development difficulties Rehabilitation of children with pervasive developmental disorder Rehabilitation of children with attention disorder and hyperactivity (ADHD) Treatment of children with behavior disorder Treatment of children with psychological disorders. With the first examination of the child, the assessment of condition and diagnosis of difficulties are conducted, in case the child has any. Firstly, the examination serves for checking how much has the child mastered developmental phases in spheres of motoric functions, speech, opinion and emotional development in comparison to their chronological age. After the examantion, parent are given the report with advice and suggestions for further possible therapy or stimulation. If the need for psychological treatment is determined, it is conducted on the principle of semi-intensive treatment twice a week for 45 minutes. During the treatment, psychologist-therapist advises families and parents and supervises child’s progress in all developmental spheres. Our service concerning diagnosis and supervising children cooperates with all relevant centers and institutions that share a common goal of children’s health and improving health, social, psychological and economic position of child. The purpose of early treatment is elimination or reduction of difficulties the child has in order to make possible for their potentials to develop, and thus to be able to get involved in all the activities adequate for their age, especially concerning education. In this sense, psychologists-therapists provide help and support to children and schools with creating individual educational plans. Psychologists of different profiles are engaged in the early treatment and diagnosis services, which allows more adequate and comprehensive approach to rehabilitation of children.
