Counseling-therapy and social-educative services

Association of Psychologists Novi Pazar by offering Counseling-therapy and social-educative services, supports and helps to children nd young adults to acquire skills for independent and productive life in a society, improve their psycho-physical development, enhance their life and socializing quality, improve family relations and overcome crisis situations. Counseling-therapy and social-educative services are planned and realized in accordance to individual needs of children and young adults, through programs, in planned time periods. Counseling-therapy and social-educative services are available for children and young adults with disabilities, disorders and developmental, behavioral and learning difficulties, as well as children without parenting custody and children from socially vulnerable families. The purpose of Counseling-therapy and social-educative services is providing help and support to children and schools for acquiring skills for independent and productive life in a society, improving psycho-physical development, enhancing their life and socializing quality, improving family relations and overcoming crisis situations. Capacity for counseling-therapy and social-educative services is 100 clients. All the clients will be provided with quality service, assured by service provider with their capacities concerning the number of employees who will conduct all the program activities in accordance with clients’ needs. ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE SERVICES Activities within the Counselling – therapy and social – educative services include: counseling guidance and realization of social-educative activities in accordance with needs and interest of the clients; care of physical, psychological, socially – emotional, cognitive and communication development and creativity of the clients; counseling-instructive work with children and young adults who have developmental difficulties, as well as with unsuccessful students, students with emotional development and maturity difficulties, physical development difficulties, family problems (children without parents, non-complete families, alcoholism in family, and similar), disturbed behavior; activities for guidance of students who are behind in psycho-physical development; assessing psychological status of the client, as well as assessing familiar and extrafamilial support; identification and working on eliminating causes for learning and behavioral problems; conducting preventive activities approaches with children and young adults; conducting individual psychological treatment and counseling; preparing reports on findings psychological diagnosis and social-protection needs of the client; supervising and encouraging development of children and young adults; creating individual plans of protection and annual reports about every client; counseling and instructive work with clients’ parents. Admittance assessment: Before service use, professional worker conducts admittance assessment based on direct interview with the client or legal representative, people relevant to the client and other sources. This way, following are being assessed: 1) The attitude of clients and other people of relevance for the client and their expectations from the service, 2) Client’s suitability for using services, 3) Capacity of service provider to satisfy client’s needs, 4) Admittance priority – entering in the record for realization request, 5) Capabilities and prior needs of the potential client, 6) Possibility of other services and ministrations in community satisfy the needs of the clients, Service provider will inform the applicant about the admittance assessment outcome in period of seven days. Assessment and planning activities: After admitting a client, the professional employee is responsible for conducting needs assessment of the client within the period of 10 days. Needs, strengths, risks, capabilities and interests of the client are being assessed. Cultural and personal specificities of the client need to be taken into consideration too. During the assessment, clients are provided with services in accordance with priority needs of the client, determined by admittance assessment. After the assessment, the degree of the needed support is being determined in relation to overall individual functioning of the client and help they need. If the Center for Social Work sent the client, assessment is being conducted based of center’s assessment. Based on needs and degree of support assessment, professional worker creates individual plan of service consisting of: goals planned to be accomplished by providing service of child’s personal assistant, expected outcomes, time frame of service plan realization, deadline for another review of the individual service plan, and those who are responsible for the realization of service plan. The clients themselves participate in creating and assessing service plan, if there is a need, and their legal representative or person of relevance to client, who sign the service plan and are given a copy of it. One professional worker is responsible for realization of service plan. The degree of the support is being determined by the whole individual functioning of the client and by the kind of the needed help, in regard to: 1) Capability of taking care of oneself, 2) Participating in the activities of community life. In accordance with assessed support degree, the activities are realized with the physical presence and help of employees, in case of second support degree clients, and with adequate supervision, in case of third support degree clients.
